Settings
Pack sections in Settings
Settings sections a trade pack adds, such as the GC pack's Company database and Connectors.
The trade pack in use can add its own sections to Settings. They sit after crux's own sections, under the pack's name (for example GC), and show only while that pack is in use (see Packs). Each reads like crux's own settings and says From the <pack> pack under its title.
Examples from the GC pack
Company database
Connects the GC pack to your company's own database of bids, results and quotes: your company's server, a free hosted database, or a file kept on this computer. Once connected:
- the pack's Estimating Intelligence tab reads your pricing history, bid results and call record from it;
- crux's own bid log and quote records are read from and written to that database, not to a separate list on this computer. See Win/loss and Supplier quotes.
Passwords for the database stay with the pack. When crux asks for one, it uses its own sign-in box.
Connectors
Turns the pack's connectors on and sets them up, for example BuildingConnected and Bonfire. A connector is turned on, set up and connected only here, never from a chat. The BuildingConnected tab appears only while that connector is on, set up and connected.
Help for pack sections
A pack can bring its own help pages. While the pack is in use, they show in crux's Help panel under the pack's name, and the ? on the pack's section opens them. Without them, the ? opens this page.
