How crux looks: Minimalist or Classic, light or dark, paper softness, and pure-white drawings.

Settings > Display sets how crux looks on this computer. Nothing here changes your jobs, estimates or proposals.

Look

  • Minimalist (default): the current crux look: plain tabs along the top, quiet outlined buttons, thin icons and more room around the work.
  • Classic: the look crux had before October 2026, for anyone who prefers it.

The change is instant and every tab follows it. You can switch back at any time; crux remembers your choice. The help pages and screenshots show the Minimalist look.

Appearance

Pick Light, Dark, or Match Windows (follows the Windows setting). The theme button at the top right of the window switches between light and dark too.

Paper softness

A warmer surface for reading in light mode. Drag the slider here, or the slider beside the theme button at the top right. It does nothing in dark mode.

Drawings

Keep drawings and spec pages pure white

  • Off (the default): when you soften light mode, drawings, spec pages, the Citation Peek and the takeoff sheet take the same soft paper tone; black line work stays black.
  • On: they stay exactly as printed, for colour-critical work such as finish schedules and colour boards.

The Drawing paper preview at the bottom shows how a sheet will look with your choices.
