Buyout

After award, turn the estimate into signed subcontracts at or below the carried numbers. Every award is your call.

Buyout is where the estimate is executed: between award and mobilization every trade gets bought. Money saved here is pure margin. You decide every award; crux puts the sharpest decision material in front of you and papers what you decide.

Start it

Say "we won it, start buyout". crux checks the addenda and the bid card first, then reads the final BASE BID workbook.

Note: Buyout never changes the estimate. A new quote captured during buyout is added as a bidder and the trade is leveled again; the workbook and your bid-day carry stay as they were.

What crux builds

In the job binder's Buyout folder:

FileWhat it holds
_BUYOUT_ROLLUP.mdPer trade: the carried sub and number, where buyout stands, and the savings ledger (nothing counts as saved until it is signed).
_BUYOUT_AUDIT.mdThe carried numbers checked against the quotes: holes, double carries, scope the carried sub excludes.
Card - <Trade>.mdOne card per trade: your position, the prices on hand, compliance, the play, the target, the ceiling, the walk-away, and what to confirm before award.

Before the cards, crux asks you what it cannot know from the files (relationships, what the sub said on the phone, what you will accept). Every number on a card says Verified (what was read) or Unverified (and why); an unverified number never alone supports an award.

Work each trade

  • Ask for a best and final, a descope meeting script, or a letter of intent: crux drafts it in your company's voice. You send it.
  • A substitution or a new price: crux captures it with its date and file, adds it as a bidder and levels the trade again.
  • Award a trade: say so. The card closes with the award date, the price goes to your pricing record and the ledger.

When every trade is bought, crux writes the buyout report in the Buyout folder: baseline, committed, savings banked, holes found and how each was settled.
