Bid history and the 90-day win rate

Every recorded bid result, the full bid tabs behind them, and the 90-day win-rate gauge against your own 12-month rate.

Bid history (Estimating Intelligence > Competitors) lists every recorded bid opening: bid date, project, owner, our bid, the low bidder and low bid, our rank, our spread from the low bid, and the result (Won, Lost, No award recorded or Not bid). The 500 most recent show.

Click a bid to open its bid results: the owner, bid date, number of bidders, the low bid, our spread and the result, then the ranked bid tab with every bidder's total and how far each was from the low. Your own row says Us; the winner says Awarded.

Getting results in

  • A bid tab: after the opening, say "the results are in" and give crux the tabulation (a file or the posted page). The post-bid autopsy reads it from its source, records the opening with every bidder, and compares what you carried with what was available at bid time.
  • A result: "mark the clinic lost, awarded to Rival A at 4.1 million". crux shows the one change it will make ("Clinic, bid event 9/24: result No award recorded → Lost (awarded to Rival A at $4,100,000)"); say yes and the tab shows it. When several jobs match, crux asks which. See Records and win/loss.

The 90-day win rate

The gauge in the Bid history header shows your win rate over the last 90 days, against your own 12-month rate.

  • Only decided bids count: won or lost. Bids with no award recorded yet, and bids you did not submit, are left out (the hover says how many are pending).
  • The ring and the number are the 90-day rate; beside it, "6 of 14 decided" and "vs 38% over 12 months", with an arrow for the direction.
  • The colour says how it compares, always in words too:
StateWhen
above usual (green)the 90-day rate is more than the band above your 12-month rate
about usual (amber)within the band
below usual (muted red)more than the band below
too few to call (grey)fewer than 5 decided bids in 90 days
  • The band is the larger of 5 points and the normal swing of that many bids at your 12-month rate (one standard error). A handful of bids swings a lot, so it takes a bigger gap to count.
  • The sparkline shows the monthly decided win rate for the last 6 months; a month with no decided bids is a gap. Hover a month for its count.
  • Hover or focus the gauge to see the rule in words and every bid it counted, with its date and result.

The gauge is read-only: it changes when results are recorded.
