GC pack · Estimating Intelligence
Estimating Intelligence
The Estimating Intelligence tab. Your company's bid results, competitors and pricing history, turned into a better-informed next move.
Estimating Intelligence is the GC pack's own tab, after crux's tabs. It reads your company's own records (pricing history, bid results and the call record) from your company database and turns them into modelled odds and budget-grade numbers. They help you judge; they are never promises and never a firm price.
Before it shows anything
The first time, the tab says Set up your company database in Settings. Open Settings > GC > Company database, connect it (your company's server, a free Supabase project, or this computer only), then come back and click Check again. See Company database.
The three views
| View | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Competitors | The bid-day matchup, competitor history with each rival's profile, and bid history with the 90-day win rate. |
| Cost Data | Budget an uncovered trade, projects, trades and recent quotes. |
| Data quality | Suggested duplicates, the full roster, merges and the pricing database integrity check. |
Click a row (a rival, a bid, a project, a trade, a quote) to open its detail in a side drawer. Close or Esc puts it away.
Keeping it current
- The tab reloads what it shows when you come back to it, and while it is open it checks every 20 seconds whether anything changed (for example a result you recorded in chat) and reloads only then.
- Refresh reloads the view now.
- Record results in chat ("mark the library job lost, awarded to Rival A at 4.1 million"). crux shows the one change it will make, writes it on your yes, and the tab shows it. See Records and win/loss.
When the database cannot be reached
With a server or Supabase database, crux keeps an offline snapshot. If the database does not answer, the tab shows the snapshot's copy, marked offline snapshot with its age, and the matchup still runs. Changes (a merge, removing a project) wait until the database is back: their buttons are off. A free Supabase project pauses after about a week without use; restore it from the Supabase dashboard and crux reconnects.
Good to know
- Budget-grade, always. Every dollar figure here comes from your own history and says how many records it rests on.
- In chat, ask the same questions in words: "who is likely to bid the library job?", "what have we paid for ACT per square foot?". Answers cite the company database and the sample size.
