How to

Addenda and the conformed set

Process an addendum, acknowledge it on the bid form, and read the latest sheets in one place.

Addenda change a bid. crux reads each one, works out what it changed (the latest document governs), and keeps the job's facts, questions and binder current.

Process a new addendum

  1. Save the addendum into the job's folder, with the rest of the documents.
  2. In the job's chat, tell crux: "Addendum 3 is in the folder" (or "process this addendum").
  3. crux indexes it, works out what it changes, updates the project facts, and sweeps it for changes to your trade's scope. Superseded spec sections and sheets are marked as replaced. The Change log in the Binder records what changed.
  4. If an addendum touches an answer you gave, crux asks you to Re-confirm it. See Questions and RFIs.

On the Project tab, Documents indexed lists the addenda; click one (Open Addendum N) to read it in the Citation Peek.

Acknowledge on the bid form

Most bid forms ask you to list the addenda you received. Under Documents indexed > Acknowledge on the bid form, tick each addendum once you have acknowledged it on your bid form. crux saves each tick with the date and "by you", puts Addenda acknowledged: 1 through 5 (for example) on the proposal, and warns when one is not ticked. An addendum reissued since you ticked it is flagged and must be ticked again.

The conformed set

A reading copy: the latest sheets and reissued spec sections in one place, so you do not have to flip between the original set and each addendum. crux builds it at the end of onboarding and again after every addendum.

  • On the Project tab, the Conformed set card lists the Drawings and Spec book. Click Open to read one in your PDF program.
  • Rebuild conformed set builds it again now. Earlier versions are kept in the Conformed folder.

Good to know: Citations always point to the original documents, never to the conformed set. The conformed set is for reading.

Re-read the drawing sheets

If a drawing set was replaced, or sheets were read wrongly, click Re-read the drawing sheets on the Documents indexed card. crux reads the job's drawing sets again for their sheet numbers and titles. It shows its progress there, and the result when it is done.
