How to
Use another pack in one chat
Switch one chat to another trade pack, for example a GC doing one painting takeoff, without changing anything else.
When your license unlocks two or more trade packs, one chat can use a different pack from the rest. For example, a general contractor can do one painting takeoff with the painting pack while every other chat keeps the GC pack.
Switch the pack for one chat
- Open the chat. The pack pill sits in the chat header, beside the project. (It shows only when your license unlocks two or more packs.)
- Click it. The menu lists the packs you can use, with the current one ticked, and says Only this chat. Other chats keep their pack.
- Pick a pack. The chat restarts quietly with it and says "Now using the <pack> pack in this chat." The conversation carries on.
Picking the job's own pack again clears the choice.
You cannot switch while crux is in the middle of a reply or a permission card is open. Wait for it to finish, then switch.
What changes and what does not
- Changes, for this chat only: the playbooks, knowledge, templates and tools crux uses.
- Never changes: the job's own pack, the pack in Settings > Packs, and every other chat.
- A takeoff started in that chat keeps that chat's pack from then on. Its files go in the job's usual folders.
- Onboarding and the background writer always use the job's own pack.
If a pack is no longer unlocked
If the chat's pack is no longer included in your license, the chat goes back to the job's pack and says so once.
