App tabs

Pack pages

Tabs a trade pack adds after crux's own, such as a GC pack's Estimating Intelligence.

A trade pack is everything crux knows about one trade: its playbooks, knowledge, templates and wording. Painting and coatings comes with crux. Some packs also add their own pages: extra tabs after crux's own (after AI Center), and sometimes their own sections in Settings.

A pack's pages show only while that pack is in use on this computer (see Packs). When you switch to another pack, or the license no longer includes it, its tabs go away. If you were on one, crux moves you to Chat. A pack page looks and works like the rest of crux, follows the light or dark theme, and keeps its place while you visit other tabs.

Examples from the GC pack

The GC (general contractor) pack adds:

  • Estimating Intelligence: turns your company's recorded bids and quote history into a better-informed next move: competitor history, bid history, cost data and a bid-day matchup. Its numbers are modelled odds and budget-grade figures, never promises. It needs the company database: until one is set up it says Set up your company database in Settings (see Pack sections in Settings).
  • BuildingConnected: shown only while the BuildingConnected connector is turned on, set up and connected in Settings > GC > Connectors. If the connection lapses, the tab hides on its own.

Help for a pack's pages

A pack can bring its own help pages. While the pack is in use, they appear in crux's Help panel under the pack's name, and the ? on the pack's tab opens them. Without them, the ? opens this page.

Good to know

  • A pack page can only reach that pack's own tools. It cannot read your other jobs, crux's own tools or the internet.
  • When a pack page opens one of your jobs, it opens on the Project tab, and Chat moves to it.
