The GC pack

What the GC pack adds to crux for a general contractor, and where each part lives.

The GC pack turns crux into a general contractor's estimating assistant. crux's core stays the same (Chat, Project, Takeoff, Binder, Bid Board, Brain, AI Center, Settings); the pack adds the GC's side of the bid: the whole job across every trade, sub quotes and leveling, scope letters, the BASE BID estimate, bid day, buyout, and your company's own pricing and competitor history.

The pack comes with a GC seat. Once your license carries it, choose GC in Settings > Packs. New jobs and chats use it from then on.

The bid, start to finish

  1. Onboard the bid: every spec, drawing, addendum and bid form, the bid card and the executive summary.
  2. Write the scope letters and invite subs (by email, or through BuildingConnected).
  3. Level the sub quotes as they come in.
  4. Build the BASE BID estimate on your company's template.
  5. Bid day: last numbers in, every gate green, the bid form laid out for you to sign.
  6. Record the result (records and win/loss), then buy out the job when you win.

Rules the pack keeps

  • You decide every number. crux reads, levels, lays out and flags; your selection is the carry.
  • Nothing leaves your company on its own. Scope letters, invitations, RFIs and emails are drafts. You send them (BuildingConnected invitations only with your Send, then Confirm).
  • Every fact is cited: spec section, sheet, addendum, quote page and line, or the company database with its sample size.
  • History is budget-grade. Numbers from your company's own history help you judge; they are never a firm price until you confirm them.

Your company's own files

The pack names no company. Your letterhead, brand, voice notes, lessons and your own BASE BID template come in your company layer. See Your company layer.
