Refund & Cancellation Policy

You can cancel crux at any time, in a couple of clicks, without calling anyone. Here's exactly how cancellation and refunds work.

Last updated 29 September 2026Monthly and annual plans

The short version

  • Cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal, or by email.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. You keep access until then and aren't charged again.
  • We don't refund partial periods, except as set out below.
  • New customers can get their first payment back if they ask within 14 days.

01How to cancel

  • In the billing portal. Open the Stripe billing portal from the link in the crux app or in any receipt email, and choose to cancel your plan.
  • By email. Or email support@cruxai.bid from your account email and ask us to cancel. We'll confirm by email.

You can also reduce the number of seats in the billing portal. Removing a seat works like cancelling that seat.

02When cancellation takes effect

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: the end of the month on a monthly plan, or the end of the year on an annual plan. Until then, crux keeps working normally and you won't be charged again. When the period ends, the app stops working. Your files stay on your computer; they're yours.

Changed your mind before the period ends? You can resume the subscription in the billing portal.

03Refunds

Because you can cancel anytime and keep access to the end of the period, we don't give refunds or credits for partial periods, unused time or unused seats, except in these cases:

  • Your first payment. If you're a new customer and crux isn't right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund that payment in full, and end the subscription.
  • Billing mistakes. If you were charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or charged after you cancelled, we'll refund the error.
  • If we end the service. If we stop providing crux for reasons other than a breach of our Terms, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
  • Where the law requires it. Nothing in this policy limits refund rights you have under law.

04Annual renewals

Annual plans renew automatically. We'll email you a reminder at least 7 days before each annual renewal, with the renewal date and price. If an annual renewal goes through and you meant to cancel, email us within 14 days of the renewal charge; if crux hasn't been used on your seats since the renewal, we'll refund it.

05Founder pricing

Founder pricing ($299 per seat per month or $2,990 per seat per year, locked for 24 months) lasts only while your subscription stays active. If you cancel and the subscription ends, or it ends for non-payment, founder pricing is gone for good; if you subscribe again later, standard pricing applies.

06Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over the following days and we'll email you so you can update your payment method in the billing portal. If payment still can't be collected, your seats are paused until it is. A paused seat isn't a cancellation, but if the subscription ends for non-payment, it's treated as cancelled.

07How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. Once we issue a refund, it usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. Refunds include any tax we collected on the refunded amount.

08Moving a seat is not a cancellation

Getting a new computer? You don't need to cancel. Deactivate the seat in the app on the old computer and activate it on the new one. If the old computer is lost or broken, email us and we'll reset the seat.
