Bonfire
Pull a Bonfire opportunity's owner Q&A, notices and addenda into the job as a cited record, read-only, through your own signed-in browser.
Bonfire portals post the owner's answers in a Public Q&A tab with no export. With the Bonfire connector on, crux reads them for you from your own signed-in browser window, saves them as a verbatim record in the job, and tells you what is new.
Turn it on and sign in first: Settings > GC > Connectors > Bonfire. While it is off, paste the portal's Q&A text into a chat instead; crux works from that.
Pull the Q&A
- In the job's chat: "check Bonfire", "pull the Q&A", or "the RFI answers landed on Bonfire". Give the opportunity address the first time (it looks like
https://agency.bonfirehub.com/opportunities/12345); crux also finds it on the bid card. - If the Bonfire window is not open, crux opens it on your agreement. Sign in there yourself if Bonfire asks. crux never sees, asks for or stores your Bonfire password.
- crux reads the opportunity (about a minute). Say "and download the addenda" to save the addendum files it finds too.
It only reads. It never asks a question on the portal, uploads, acknowledges or submits.
What you get
In the job's crux folder, under bonfire\<agency>-<id>\:
- Bonfire Q&A.md: every item word for word, each with its own citation, for example "Owner Q&A #12 (Bonfire, opportunity 12345, answered Sep 29, 2026 4:15 PM)". crux cites answers exactly that way, never "per the owner";
- the addendum files, in
addenda\, when you asked for them.
In chat, crux reports what changed since the last pull: new questions, newly answered ones, answers whose text changed, and items no longer listed. Then crux:
- matches the portal's numbers to your RFI Log, records each answer on its RFI, and flags any of your RFIs that do not appear publicly before the question deadline;
- treats each answer that changes a fact like an addendum: the facts, the bid card, the RFI Log, the ITB Checklist and the procurement list are updated (see Addenda). A later answer that reverses an earlier one governs, and crux names both numbers;
- offers to draft a transmittal of the answers to the subs whose scope moved. You send it.
Careful: When the portal's own count (
Public Q&A (N)) differs from what crux captured, the record is incomplete (private questions, or items that did not open). crux says so before using any of it. Check those on the portal yourself.
